Value Engineering
As capital improvement project costs escalate, it has become increasingly important to not only evaluate each project design with regard to its potential costs, but identify areas of potential cost reduction. Our firm has long recognized this important phase of a project’s development and has cultivated the experienced staff required to conduct Value Engineering studies.
The purpose of a Value Engineering Study is to achieve the following:
- Identify areas in a design that potentially have unnecessary costs
- Formulate ideas and propose alternate methods for achieving beneficial changes to the project
- Develop recommendations which are cost-effective and/or improve long-term performance and reliability
The underlying goal of the Value Engineering effort is to achieve essential functions of the project at the lowest life-cycle cost. Due to inflation and ever-increasing material costs, time has become an important factor both in the expeditious completion of the Value Engineering
Study and in the impact of its project recommendations.
A successful Value Engineering Study depends upon the technical expertise and training of the team members. Our firm has the resources to provide the experience and the staff necessary for a meaningful study.
