  • New police facility supports both police and community events
  • Exterior design blends with surrounding buildings, creating community appeal.

Seeking to design a new police facility that not only served the Southern District Police, but also provided public meeting spaces to serve the community, Gannett Fleming sought creative input from the surrounding community. The result was a design for a facility that could accommodate 100 officers and was sensitive to the community’s desires.

What We Did

Gannett Fleming provided field surveying, architectural design, and geotechnical, site/civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering. Every effort was made to make this building a welcome addition to the community. The building’s brick façade was designed to blend with adjacent brick residential buildings. The site design retained the rear third of the existing wooded area to both screen the parking area and to preserve a wetlands area. Indoor and outdoor public meeting areas make the building a community resource.
