Baltimore Office Participates in Day with an Engineer
On Feb. 24, 2010, the Baltimore, Md., office participated in National Engineers Week by hosting three local high school students for the Day with an Engineer program. The event was organized by the Society of American Military Engineers, Baltimore Post and Rob Scrafford, P.E., a site remediation engineer in the Baltimore office.
The goal of Day with an Engineer is to expose high school students and prospective engineers to the daily activities of professional engineers. The high school juniors from Baltimore Lutheran, Eastern Technical, and Dulaney High Schools, were given a site tour of the Union Dam Demolition construction project site. In addition, the students spent time with Gannett Fleming engineers from various practices including Water/Wastewater, Architectural, Transportation, Civil, Electrical, Site Remediation, and Environmental Resources.
