Lancaster Office Helps Beautify County Park
Employees of the Lancaster, Pa., office, recently helped beautify the Garden of Five Senses in Lancaster County Central Park. The effort was part of a Marubeni-Itochu Steel America Inc. (MISA) Cares project for the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation.
The Garden of Five Senses is open to the public year round and provides stimulation for all the senses. There are educational signs along the garden’s walkway explaining how each of the senses work and how people and animals use them to survive. The garden is visited by many school groups and is also used for functions such as picnics and weddings.
The group’s project consisted of mulching five large and three small flower and plant beds. MISA, a Gannett Fleming client, performs these projects as part of its environmental management system sustainability initiatives.
