Harrisburg Office Hosts ACE Mentor Program
The Harrisburg, Pa., office hosted the ACE Mentor Program to allow students to participate in a site visit to an engineering and architecture firm. More than 30 high school students visited six stations covering civil and site development, structures, architecture, electrical, environmental/permitting, and office operations. Gannett Fleming volunteers developed and presented information at each station and served as guides leading small groups of students from station to station.
Students participating in the ACE Mentor Program attend after-school sessions throughout the school year with the goal of familiarizing themselves with careers in architecture, construction, and engineering through presentations and hands-on exercises. The students work on their own projects, which they will present at the end of the year. In addition to helping with the site visit, several Gannett Fleming employees volunteer as mentors at these after-school sessions.
