Gannett Fleming Supports Sci Tech High Community Partnership Days
For the past two years, Gannett Fleming has supported Harrisburg School District's Sci Tech High programs by finding and coordinating speakers and field trips on various aspects of engineering. Sci Tech High is a comprehensive honors level, college preparatory academic program offering students from the Harrisburg, Pa., area, a personalized learning experience focused on math and science in a technology rich environment.
Gannett Fleming presents about eight programs each year to sophomores and juniors in high school who have expressed an interest in engineering careers. In addition to a general introduction to engineering, programs have addressed structural engineering including a bridge building exercise, environmental engineering, water treatment plant design and a tour of a plant, instrumentation, geotechnical engineering, stormwater design and sitework, construction site tours, and geographic information systems.
