Annual Crum Creek Snapshot
As an outdoor extension of their science curriculum, 300 ninth grade students from Marple Newtown High School participated in the First Annual Crum Creek Snapshot in May at one of four locations in Newtown or Marple Townships, Pa.
Kristin Civitella, an employee in our Clearfield, Pa., office, and a volunteer of the Chester Ridley Crum Watershed Association, taught students techniques in sampling Crum Creek’s chemical water quality. Kristin’s students sampled at a location downstream of the Springton Reservoir, located in Marple Township.
Gannett Fleming “donated” Kristin’s time by allowing her to volunteer during work hours.
