Gratitude from Africa
Last October, Gannett Fleming employees donated used and new books for distribution in both the Harrisburg Area School District/Project Headstart program and the Mokaleng School in Africa. Approximately 473 pounds of books were mailed in January and sent via ship to Africa. That’s more than 1,000 books!
The books took approximately eight weeks to arrive at their destination and had to be picked up at the post office by Lindsay McCormick because there is no local delivery there. Lindsay is the daughter of Gannett Fleming employees Gary and Krista McCormick and a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Aminuis, Namibia. The McCormicks extend their appreciation to the Gannett Fleming family for donating the books and making a difference in these children's lives.
