Kauffman Named International Development Director

Sheldon S. Kauffman(Harrisburg, Pa.) Sheldon S. Kauffman was recently named international development director with Gannett Fleming, Inc., an international planning, design, and construction management firm. Based in the firm’s headquarters in Harrisburg, Pa., Kauffman will develop and implement an international business plan, coordinate and track all international activity, and engage Gannett Fleming’s legal council on international contracts and agreements.

“We are excited to have Sheldon in this key role,” said President and Chief Operating Officer Robert M. Scaer.

“Gannett Fleming has taken some significant strides during the past two years to increase its focus on international opportunities. There are many countries around the world experiencing strong growth and prosperity, providing Gannett Fleming with a tremendous opportunity to expand into these growing markets,” he added.

Kauffman began his career with Gannett Fleming as the section manager for federal and international development with the Construction Management Division where he managed contracts with the Army Corps of Engineers, Navy Facilities Engineer Command, and Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment.

Prior to joining Gannett Fleming, Kauffman served as an officer in the U.S. Army, retiring from military service in 2007. His experience includes an extensive background in managing engineering operations, international teams, and training programs.

Kauffman holds a bachelor of science in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master of science in science of instruction from Drexel University. Active in professional associations, Kauffman is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America and a life member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the Army Engineer Association.
