
Hoffmann Recognized by ASCE Pittsburgh Section

(Pittsburgh, Pa.) The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Pittsburgh, Pa., Section awarded Arthur G. Hoffmann, Jr., P.E., D.GE., the Michael A. Gross Meritorious Service to the Pittsburgh Section Award. ASCE is a professional association whose mission is to develop leadership, advance technology, advocate lifelong learning, and promote the civil engineering profession.
Hoffmann earned this award because he has rendered conspicuous and meritorious service for several years to the Pittsburgh Section. The award is named in honor of Michael A. Gross, who provided almost 70 years of continuous service to the Pittsburgh Section. Hoffmann is a past president of the ASCE, Pittsburgh Section and is also a past president of the Geo-Institute of ASCE. He currently serves on the ASCE Pittsburgh Section Policy Review Committee.
Based in the Pittsburgh office, Hoffmann is a vice president of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. He serves as the firm’s corporate quality officer and is responsible for corporate safety and corporate learning programs, and he leads the Gannett Fleming Collaborate Research and Innovative Center.
With more than 26 years of experience, Hoffmann holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. In addition to his ASCE involvements, Hoffmann is a member of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Visiting Committee and the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.
