
Harrison Elected Secretary of USGBC-NJ Executive Board

(South Plainfield, N.J.) Anastasia Harrison, AIA, LEED® AP, has been elected secretary of the U.S. Green Building Council-New Jersey Chapter’s (USGBC-NJ’s) executive board. Voted on by a 17-member executive board, Harrison will serve a one-year term as secretary. In this position, Harrison will work toward accomplishing the USGBC-NJ’s mission to be New Jersey's foremost coalition in the public and private sectors promoting the planning, design, construction, and operation/maintenance of buildings that are environmentally responsible, cost effective, productive, and healthy places to live, learn, and work.
Harrison serves as the director of sustainability for the Northeast Region of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. Based in the firm’s South Plainfield, N.J., office, Harrison drives sustainable design philosophies to ensure that the firm’s projects have the ability to reach the highest levels of sustainability. She is responsible for leading the pursuit and acquisition of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®)-certified construction projects and guiding the firm in strengthening and achieving its long-term internal and external sustainability goals.
A registered architect in New Jersey and a LEED Accredited Professional, Harrison earned her bachelor of science in architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Society for Marketing Professional Services, and the USGBC, where she also leads the speaker’s bureau for New Jersey and is one of its educators for LEED workshops offered in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Long Island, N.Y.
