Calhoun Named Vice President

 (Tampa, Fla.) Jay H. L. Calhoun, P.E., was named a vice president of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. Based in Tampa, Fla., Calhoun is responsible for the design and quality control of signal systems, intelligent transportation system (ITS) projects, and traffic engineering studies. Calhoun also oversees business development and marketing initiatives for the firm’s ITS Practice.
With more than 32 years of consulting experience, Calhoun has distinguished himself in transportation planning, traffic operations, and ITS. He joined Gannett Fleming through the acquisition of VANUS, Inc. When president of VANUS, Inc., Calhoun built a sound reputation as a highly qualified professional in the transportation field. He established a strong list of clients, which include state departments of transportation, local and county governments, area planning organizations, and a host of private sector entities.
A registered professional engineer in nine states, Calhoun holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Lehigh University, a master of business administration from the University of South Florida, and a master of arts in planning from the University of Virginia. He serves on the board of directors of ITS Florida, is a Fellow with the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and is a member of the Florida Engineering Society.
