
Brenize Selected for ARTBA’s Young Executive Development Program

(Harrisburg, Pa.) Brett A. Brenize, P.E., DBIA, has been selected to participate in the American Road and Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA’s) Young Executive Development Program (YEDP). YEDP, designed to develop future leaders of the transportation design and construction industry, is held once a year in Washington, D.C. Brenize serves as a section manager and senior project manager with Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. He is based in the firm’s corporate headquarters in Harrisburg, Pa.
Brenize participated in the three-day intensive program that introduced him and 30 other chosen attendees to the legislative and regulatory processes that affect the transportation industry. YEDP members participated in seminars featuring the legislative, budget, and appropriations processes; an emphasis was placed on transportation issues before Congress in 2010. They also attended sessions on federal regulatory agency rulemaking and an overview of federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. Participants also had the opportunity to meet with their elected officials on Capitol Hill.
Brenize holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor of science in physics from Shippensburg University. He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, as well as a Designated Design-Build Professional™ through the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). A veteran who served five years in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps, Brenize is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers. He resides in Carlisle, Pa.
