SAME Baltimore Post Recognizes Gannett Fleming with Multiple Awards

 (Baltimore, Md.) At the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Baltimore Post annual awards event, the Baltimore, Md., office of Gannett Fleming and its staff received several accolades.
Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm, was honored with the Post’s Sustaining Member of the Year Award for its outstanding contributions to the organization. In addition to the active involvement on the Post’s Board of Direction by Robert W. Scrafford, P.E., an environmental scientist/engineer in Gannett Fleming’s Baltimore office, and Gannett Fleming retiree James A. Durkay, P.E., numerous other employees of the firm have regularly attended meetings and supported the Post’s events. Also, the firm supports the Post’s young member participation and student activities, among other initiatives.
In addition, Scrafford received the SAME Baltimore Young Member Award, which recognizes the winner for his/her outstanding leadership and accomplishments that support the society’s mission. Scrafford has been actively involved with the Baltimore Post for more than 10 years. He serves as chair of the Communications Committee and, for the past two years, has spearheaded the Post’s “Support Our Troops” program. This program has collected approximately 2,300 pounds of necessary items for deployed troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. He is also active in the Post’s Young Member and National Security Committees.
Scrafford holds a bachelor of science in environmental studies from Bucknell University and a master of science in environmental sciences and policy from Johns Hopkins University. He is a registered professional engineer in Maryland and Virginia. In addition to his involvement with the SAME Baltimore Post, Scrafford is a member of the American Water Resources Association. He resides in Baltimore.
