(Harrisburg, Pa.) Rachel Lengle Govelovich, P.E., has been named Young Engineer of the Year by both the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Central Pennsylvania Section, and the Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council (CPEWC). Govelovich was recognized for her academic and occupational achievements, professional and educational excellence, engineering and technical accomplishments, and citizenship.
With more than six years of engineering experience, Govelovich is an assistant project manager in the Environmental Resources Division of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. She prepares water system planning and feasibility studies, coordinates project design and implementation, and facilitates water and sewer system financial aid applications and administration.
A registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Govelovich holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering technology from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to her ASCE involvement, Govelovich is a member of the American Water Works Association and the Society of Women Environmental Professionals.
ASCE is a professional association whose mission is to develop leadership, advance technology, advocate lifelong learning, and promote the civil engineering profession. CPEWC is a non-profit organization established to plan the annual Engineers Week celebration, promote the work of engineers, and recognize outstanding achievement.
