(Phoenix, Ariz.) Dean B. Durkee, Ph.D., P.E., was recently named a vice president with Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. Based in the firm’s Phoenix, Ariz., office, Durkee is the regional manager of the Earth Science and Hydraulics Practice.
With more than 16 years of experience, Durkee oversees the technical direction, project management, and business development of dam and geotechnical efforts. He works closely with clients throughout the western United States to successfully complete water resource, environmental, and transportation projects.
Durkee holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Colorado State University, a master of science in geotechnical engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and a doctorate degree in geotechnical engineering from Colorado State University.
A registered professional engineer in six states, Durkee is a model law engineer through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, and the United States Society on Dams.
