
Cox Joins Gannett Fleming
(West Palm Beach, Fla.) Michael G. Cox, P.E., PP, recently joined Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. He serves as the water resources program manager based in the firm’s West Palm Beach, Fla., office.
In this position, Cox oversees the development and day-to-day operations of the Water Resources, Dams and Hydraulics Engineering, and Storm Water Management disciplines for Gannett Fleming’s Southeast Region. He directs the planning and management of river basin, water resources, and land-related infrastructure and environmental projects.
With more than 33 years of experience, Cox has been involved in the planning, design, and construction engineering of more than 120 infrastructure and environmental projects. His areas of expertise include highway, water supply, and groundwater resource development; storm water management, flood control and drainage systems; dam evaluation and rehabilitation; small-scale hydropower studies; stream stabilization and erosion control; and coastal protection efforts.
A registered professional engineer and professional planner, Cox holds a bachelor of science in civil and highway engineering from the University of the West Indies and a master of science in civil engineering from Polytechnic University of New York. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Water Resources Association, and the Association of State Dam Safety Officials.
