Hickey Joins Gannett Fleming

Thomas R. Hickey, AICP(Philadelphia, Pa.) Thomas R. Hickey, AICP, recently joined the Philadelphia office of Gannett Fleming, specializing in urban planning, land use, and transportation projects. Hickey, a veteran public transit professional with 27 years of experience, will serve as national transit planning manager.

Hickey is a nationally-recognized authority in the fields of transportation management, multimodal operations planning, intermodal facility design, and system integration. In this role, he is responsible for the comprehensive management and marketing of the firm’s bus and rail transit planning capabilities throughout North America, as well as coordinating projects overseas. Hickey comes to Gannett Fleming following a decade of consulting on new rail, bus and ferry systems, and intermodal centers in 26 states, Canada, the Middle East and Asia. He has held planning, operations management, and executive positions with transit agencies in New York City, Philadelphia, and St. Louis, and served as Delaware’s state railroad administrator.

Hickey holds a bachelor of arts in urban geography from Villanova University and is a certified planner licensed through the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is professionally active with committees of the American Public Transportation Association and the Transportation Research Board.
