(Harrisburg, Pa.) Stephen F. Talian, P.E., was
recently named the 2004 Engineer of the Year by the American Society
of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Central Pennsylvania Section and
by the Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council (CPEWC).
The award is presented on an annual basis to an individual over
the age of 36 who has been actively involved in the engineering profession
for at least 12 years. The award recognizes individuals who demonstrated
excellence in academic, occupational, professional, and educational
achievements, as well as citizenship.
Talian is a senior vice president at Gannett Fleming, an international
planning, design, and construction management firm. He has been
an essential part of the firm for 37 years.
Talian holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Lehigh
University. He also holds a master of science in civil engineering
from Lehigh University. He is a member of the American Council of Engineering
Companies, Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association, American
Water Works Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, American
Water Resources Association, National Society of Professional Engineers,
Water Works Operators Association of Pennsylvania, National Association
of Water Companies, and the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies.
