Gannett
Fleming and the Delaware County Board of Commissioners were presented
with a 2003 Construction Management Association of America (CMAA),
Mid-Atlantic chapter, project of the year award for the Alum Creek
Water Reclamation Facility. They were honored at an awards banquet
on May 15, 2003, at the Valley Brook Country Club in Blackwood, N.J.
The
project received the award in the water reclamation category for
public projects with a construction value less than $100 million.
Located in Delaware County, Ohio, this project included the construction
of a 10-mgd water reclamation facility, a 15-mgd pumping station,
a central maintenance facility, and the installation of approximately
40,000 linear feet of 36-inch through 48-inch influent and effluent
sewers.
Gannett Fleming provided pre-bid and comprehensive construction
management services on this $66 million project. A full-time, 10-person
construction management staff was on-site to oversee the construction
activities of nine prime contractors, who were working on all phases
of the project at multiple construction locations. This included
construction managers, construction observers, a scheduler, an estimator,
and mechanical and electrical specialists.
