The WTS North Carolina (WTS NC) Triangle Chapter recently awarded its prestigious 2020 Member of the Year Award to Mike Holder, PE, a Gannett Fleming vice president.
“Mike has been a great asset to the WTS NC Triangle Chapter. After joining the chapter, he stepped up to volunteer for the fundraising chair position in 2019,” said Taruna Tayal, WTS NC Triangle president. “Our chapter is grateful for the tremendous work Mike has been doing to increasing the awareness of WTS in the business community and supporting and advancing women.”
Holder is a recognized thought leader who advises transportation experts and public works providers across the nation. He is responsible for developing, leading, and driving planning, design, transportation program management, construction management, traffic engineering, and intelligent transportation system deployment. According to Tayal, Holder’s recognition as a transportation leader and his dedicated efforts to the WTS NC Triangle Chapter increased corporate sponsorship by 50% in 2019 and maintained it for 2020.
“Gannett Fleming is so proud of Mike and the contributions he makes to advancing women in the transportation profession,” said Terry Snow, PE, a Gannett Fleming senior vice president. “Being recognized by WTS NC Triangle as their ‘Member of the Year’ is a true testament of Mike’s commitment to WTS and the positive leadership he provides in advancing the transportation industry.”
Prior to joining Gannett Fleming, Holder served as chief engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from North Carolina State University.
