The Gannett Fleming Toronto office recently led and hosted the WTS Toronto Volunteer Appreciation and Recruitment Event 2020, inviting guests to develop individual skills, gain leadership experience, and meet new contacts.
“This was a great opportunity for Gannett Fleming and WTS to recognize current WTS Toronto Chapter volunteers and all they do,” said Adrienne Lee, Gannett Fleming GIS analyst and WTS networking event coordinator. “From organizing events to mentoring young professionals and recruiting volunteers, this event allowed our new members to see how WTS impacts our community and take away valuable tips for their careers.”
At the networking event, attendees had a chance to interact with WTS board and committee members and learn about the activities of the WTS Toronto Chapter. The chapter, completely driven by volunteers, represents the transit industry of Southern Ontario. Each committee had a chance to showcase its responsibilities, including programs, membership, mentoring, scholarship, and communications.
According to the WTS International website, “WTS is an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. With over 6,500 members, including both women and men, WTS is turning the glass ceiling into a career portal through its professional programs, networking opportunities, and unparalleled access to industry and government leaders.”
